Our trip today to the DMZ made me contemplate about the stances between North and South Korea. The existence of the DMZ as a provider of communication between the two Koreas is seen as a “paradise spot” from the aspect of the South Koreans who have family members still in the North. I am curious to learn the perspective of North Koreans on the topic of unity, as it could be just as divided as in the South. The Korean war is still a sensitive topic, although not as painful as before, but it’s interesting how Koreans have learned to see this as a way of moving forward.
